Like so many of her peers, Jackie's picture taking history starts in the film era, having received a Kodak Instamatic when she was seven. Always fascinated with the photographic process, she worked her way through college as a copy photographer and darkroom technician at Case Western Reserve University’s department of biology and electron microscopy. In 2004, she launched her own business and became adept at product photography and graphic design.
Embracing digital photography opened new doors: Jackie developed a passion for wildlife and nature photography and pursued advanced coursework in photography, digital imaging, and visual communications at Cuyahoga Community College. More recently she has explored historic alternative processes, creating handmade cyanotypes that combine photography with pressed botanicals.
Her photographs have been selected for juried and curated exhibitions including the Richmond Art Museum's Annual Exhibition of Ohio and Indiana Artists, Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, Heights Arts Gallery, Westlake Porter Library, Summit Metro Parks Annual Exhibition, Tri-C Student and Alumni Exhibition, the Suburban Symphony Orchestra, and the Peninsula Coffee House. Her fine art photography book, What We Leave Behind, was published in 2022, and for the past three years her photographs have been chosen for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park calendar and Summit Metro Parks publications. She was commissioned to develop the photographic concept and cover image for the Community College Humanities Association's 2022 National Conference program.
Jackie has won numerous photography awards, most recently Black & White Magazine People's Choice Award for "Wild Mare" Single Image Contest, (February 2027 issue) and Best of Category and the People's Choice Award at the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center's 41st Annual Juried Exhibition (2026); a first-place Blue Ribbon and two second-place ribbons at the 2026 Ohio State Fair; and both Black-and-White Photo of the Year and Pictorial Photo of the Year at the Cleveland Photographic Society's End-of-Year Awards. She has also received awards from the Ohio State Nisonger Center and the Cuyahoga Valley and Cleveland Photographic Societies competitions. At county fairs from 2024–2026, her work earned dozens of ribbons, including Best of Show at the Summit County Fair and multiple blue ribbons at the Geauga and Cuyahoga County Fairs.
She volunteers her photography for nonprofits including MedWorks, Medina County Special Olympics, Homeless Stand Down, One World Day and Summit Metro Parks. She is a member of the Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society and the Cleveland Photographic Society.
