Like so many of her peers, Jackie's picture taking history starts in the film era, having received a Kodak Instamatic when she was seven.  Always fascinated with the photographic process, she worked her way through college as a copy photographer and darkroom technician at Case Western Reserve University’s department of biology and electron microscopy.  In 2004, she launched her own business and became adept at product photography and graphic design.
She acquired her first digital camera during the pandemic and developed a passion for wildlife and nature photography. To further enhance her skills, Jackie took classes at Cuyahoga Community College to pursue advanced coursework in photography, digital imaging, and visual communications.
Jackie's photographs have been selected for juried exhibitions as well as won numerous awards including Ohio State Nisonger Center, Tri-C Student and Alumni Exhibition, Cuyahoga Valley Art Center,  Akron Camera Club, Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society, and Cleveland Photographic Society.  In the 2024 Summit County Fair she won multiple first place and ribbons in all other categories.  One of her photos was awarded "Best of Show."  Her photos took home 21 prize ribbons at the 2024 Cuyahoga County Fair including 5 firsts. In the 2024 Geauga county Fair, she received a total of 15 prize ribbons, including 5 first place. This was first time entering photos in this type of competition.
She was commissioned to develop the photographic concept and image for the Community College Humanities Association's  2022 National Conference Program Cover. In 2022 she published a fine arts photography book:  What We Leave Behind.  This year her photo of "Goslings" was chosen for the 2025 Cuyahoga Valley National Park calendar.
She enjoys volunteering as a photographer for non profits including MedWorks and Summit Metro Parks.  Jackie is a member of the Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society, Cleveland Photographic Society, and the National Photographers Enthusiast Group.
